Murray Mallee Training Company Ltd has been a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 1996, providing Nationally Accredited Training to Apprentices and Trainees in Victoria and New South Wales. Qualifications ranging from Certificate II to IV are available for a diverse range of Business and Industry including:

Programs are designed and wherever possible facilities set up to enhance flexibility of delivery in order to maximise the opportunity for access and participation by disadvantaged students.

Should you and your employer decide to select MMTC Ltd as your Training Provider, a Training Consultant will visit you to discuss the Training Program in more detail including the development of a Training Plan, identification of any required off-the-job training, Assessment Methods and their frequency.

Agriculture / horticulture industry

AHC20116 - Certificate II in Agriculture
This qualification provides an entry level occupational outcome in agriculture. The Certificate II in Agriculture provides students with necessary skills, knowledge and experience to work in the areas of agriculture. This enables individuals to select a livestock production or cropping context as a job needs. Industry expects individuals with this qualification to carry out routine tasks under general supervision and exercise limited autonomy with some accountability for their own work. This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship. 

Job roles vary across different industry sectors and may include:

  • Assistant animal attendant/stockperson
  • Assistant Farm or Station hand
  • Assistant Farm or Station worker
  • Assistant Farm or Station labourer

AHC30116 - Certificate III in Agriculture
This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in agriculture. The qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production, cropping or livestock context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both cropping and livestock. Industry expects individuals with this qualification to perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures   This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship. 

Job roles vary across different industry sectors and may include:

  • Farm or station hand
  • Farm or station worker
  • Livestock transport driver

AUR30320 - Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry. This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship. The Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology prepares new employees or recognises and develops existing workers who service, diagnose and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems and components.

AUR30420 - Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of agricultural vehicles. This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

The Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology is intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing mechanical work in the agricultural vehicle and equipment service and repair sector.

Employment outcomes targeted by this qualification include:

  • Agricultural mechanical technicians

Credit may be granted towards this qualification by those who have completed Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology, Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation or other relevant qualifications.

CPC33020 - Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying
This qualification provides a trade outcome in bricklaying and blocklaying. This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

  • Bricklayer
  • Blocklaying

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as two specialist fields of work. The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry
This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications .This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

MEM30219 - Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical Trade
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to work as an Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical work. The qualification has been specifically developed for apprentices in the above trade. The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through a combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes.

Job roles/employment outcome:

The Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade specifies the competencies required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical including the design, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, commissioning, maintenance and service of all mechanical equipment, machinery, fluid power systems, stationary and mobile equipment, instruments, refrigeration, and the use of computer controlled machine tools. Employment outcomes related to this qualification are found in a wide variety of manufacturing and engineering related sectors as well as Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical roles in other industries.

Further training pathways from this qualification include   Certificate IV in Engineering and Diploma of Engineering - Advanced Trade or other relevant qualifications.

MEM30319 - Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson - Fabrication within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradespersons - Fabrication work. The qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of apprentices in the above trade. The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through an integrated combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes.

Job roles/employment outcomes:

The Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade specifies the competencies required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson - Fabrication including metal fabrication, forging, founding, structural steel erection, electroplating, metal spinning, metal polishing, sheet metal work, welding and the use of related computer controlled equipment   Employment outcomes related to this qualification are found in a wide variety of manufacturing and engineering related sectors as well as Engineering Tradesperson - Fabrication roles in other industries.

cabinet making industry

MSF31113 - Certificate III in Cabinet Making
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of skills at trade-level for those working in furniture making and those involved in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context. Installation skills may be applied to new or renovation work. The work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.

This qualification offers a generic Certificate III in Cabinet Making, as well as two pathways targeting the skill requirements of free-standing furniture makers and kitchen and bathroom cabinet makers and installers.

Pathway 1: MSF31113 Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Furniture)

The MSS30312 Certificate III in Competitive Systems and Practices is available for employees at this level who already possess technical skills and who require additional manufacturing practice skills above those available in this qualification.

SIR20216 - Certificate II in Retail Services
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic retail operational knowledge and limited practical skills in a defined context. Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail outlets. Individuals may work with some autonomy or in a team but usually under close supervision   This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles, such as:

  • provide product and service advice in a retail store
  • sell products and services in a variety of retail settings
  • work as a checkout operator
  • check stock and replenish shelves
  • organise and maintain work areas and displays.

After achieving SIR20216 Certificate II in Retail Services, individuals may undertake SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail

SIR30216 - Certificate III in Retail
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in retail operations   Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail fast food outlets. This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles, such as:

  • provide in-depth product and service advice in a retail environment
  • sell products and services in a variety of retail settings
  • service the point-of-sale area
  • organise and maintain work areas and displays
  • carry out specific responsibilities, such as merchandising.

TLI20421 - Certificate II in Supply Chain Operations
This is a general qualification for the Warehousing and Storage Industry. It involves a range of tasks involving known routines and procedures, and taking some accountability for the quality of work outcomes   This qualification may be accessed by direct entry. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.
